Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTC)
Econolite Systems. Inc. (ESI) provided comprehensive maintenance, diagnostic, and repair services for traffic operation system devices along the I-880 corridor in the San Francisco Bay Area. The services included assisting MTC and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 4 in the management and maintenance of field devices, including Changeable Message Signs (CMS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, ramp meters, vehicle detection stations along the I-880 corridor, from I-80 in Alameda County to I-280 in Santa Clara County, on a scheduled and as-needed basis.
As part of the project, ESI was required to record all assets in the field. Assets were placed in ESI’s field data collection system (Team Epro). Asset information included location, serial number, name, manufacturer, warranty, and product description. Work performed on each asset was documented to capture the cost per device. Asset replacement or upgrade was included with new device information and retirement of old devices. Reports were generated to detail asset work performed, Year-to-Date (YTD) cost, Removal or replacement information, and status.
