Ada County Highway District, Ada County, ID

Located in the southwestern region of the state of Idaho, Ada County is the state’s most populous county as part of the Boise-Meridian-Nampa metropolitan area. Unique to Ada County is the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) which has jurisdiction over all local county and city streets (except for state and private roads). Established in 1971 as an independent government entity by a vote of the people, ACHD is responsible for more than 5,170 lane miles of roadways and intersections within the county and six cities. ACHD is also responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and improvement projects to all local roads, intersections, and bridges within its jurisdiction.

ACHD awarded a contract to Econolite Systems, Inc. for the countywide Traffic Signal Central Software (TSCS) and NEMA Advanced Traffic Controllers (ATC) solution. Econolite will work with the ACHD traffic engineers and technicians to deploy the Centracs® Mobility Platform and Cobalt® ATC controller with EOS controller software at approximately 600 existing signalized intersections and pedestrian crossings within Ada County through the end of 2024. Econolite will also ensure that the Mobility and Cobalt/EOS solution integrates into the existing ACHD Traffic Management Center (TMC) and roadway assets network via the County’s fiber communications. Upon completion of installation, Econolite will also provide Centracs Mobility maintenance for a period of five years.
