Anaheim, Calif., January 27, 2021 — Econolite, the leader in one-stop-shop traffic management, today announced its next-generation Advanced Transportation Controller (ATC) software, EOS, has been added to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Approved Products List (APL) under the 671-017-010 certification for the Econolite Cobalt ATC.
EOS is already deployed at more than 3,500 intersections throughout North America, making it one of the fastest accepted and installed traffic controller software systems. Designed to power Cobalt, as well as properly configured ATC-style controllers from other manufacturers, EOS represents a breakthrough in ATC software. In addition, EOS provides enhanced features, helping prepare transportation agencies and cities to deploy Connected Vehicle and Smart City applications.
“We are excited about the Econolite EOS controller software addition to the FDOT APL,” said Jim Madden, Econolite Regional Vice President, Eastern Sales. “EOS is designed with the future in mind to improve traffic control capabilities, while supporting future Smart City and connected vehicle programs. We look forward to EOS and Cobalt controllers helping provide Florida cities with the safest and most efficient intersections.”
